Mountain paths to St. Alijah are marked by standard markings. Three routes are marked. St. Alijah is abundant in Mediterranean herbs, it is also a habitat of mouflons, while at the mere peak, you will enjoy one of the best views on the Mediterranean with a perfect view till Apennines.
Estimate well your physical fitness because you will need 3 hours to get to the top of the highest peak of Pelješac.
Plan to leave early in the morning and make sure you have a map as well as numbers of the help line for The Croatian Mountain Rescue Service (HGSS) – station Orebić. St. Alijah is a favourite among mountaineers, but make sure you have read our instruction before going there, and ask for advice some of the experienced members of Mountaineering Club Sveti Ilija.
